However, I am aware that given our title, Merseyside & Cheshire Buses, it is sometimes - understandably - assumed that such information can be found here. Merseytravel doesn't operate buses directly but is responsible for providing timetable information and for subsidising socially-necessary services which aren't operated commercially. Merseytravel also provides Saveaway day tickets allowing unlimited travel (subject to exceptions) throughout areas of or the whole of Merseyside and Solo / trio season tickets. Arriva is the largest single provider of commercial bus services throughout Merseyside with a fleet of around 800 buses in the area.
Glenvale Transport Ltd., East Lancashire Road, Liverpool L11 0BB.
Stagecoach now operates the majority of bus services in the North Liverpool and Kirkby areas (having taken over Glenvale in July 2005) plus many other services throughout Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley.

First provides a number of services on the Wirral peninsula including the trunk service linking Liverpool and Birkenhead with Cheshire Oaks, the Blue Planet Aquarium, Ellesmere Port, Chester Zoo and Chester.

Chesterbus, owned by Chester City Council, provides the bulk of bus services within the Chester city boundary and also operates the very efficient Park & Ride services which are recommended if you wish to avoid horrendous traffic congestion and scarce central parking spaces! Other services operated include the City Sightseeing tour and the Chester Dial-A-Ride network.

Halton Borough Council's Traveline site gives details of all bus and rail services in the Borough of Halton which includes Runcorn and Widnes as its major towns.
Halton Borough Transport Limited, Moor Lane, Widnes WA8 7AF. Telephone 0151 423 3333.
Halton Transport operates most Widnes town services and trunk services linking the town with Runcorn, Huyton, St. Helens and Liverpool. The council-owned fleet consists almost entirely of fully-accessible vehicles and Halton Transport has won a number of awards for the quality of its operations.

Warrington Borough Transport is owned by Warrington Borough Council and provides most town services within Warrington together with trunk routes linking Warrington and Northwich.
